I am grateful for the opportunity to have completed my undergraduate degrees and to further my education in this master's program. As a Caucasian, female Catholic, and a member of the late Millennial generation, I bring a distinct set of experiences and perspectives to the table. My parents, first-generation Canadians who immigrated from Poland, instilled in me a strong sense of heritage and resilience. They worked tirelessly to provide me with a comfortable life, a privilege I do not take lightly. This upbringing has deeply influenced my worldview, guiding my beliefs and values.

 

As mentioned above, I serve as a Project Lead and PHSA Supply Chain Liaison for my local health authority, a role I have held for over a year. Although I am still navigating and learning in this capacity, it has significantly broadened my understanding of the complexities of the healthcare sector and supply chain. This experience has enhanced my skills and expanded my views on how interconnected and essential various aspects of public health management are.

 

I am acutely aware of my privileges and the disparities that exist in society. Inspired by the World Health Organization's insights on vulnerability and vulnerable populations, I recognize that many individuals do not have the same opportunities that I have been afforded. This awareness drives me to be mindful of different life experiences and contribute positively towards reducing inequalities wherever possible.

 

Despite my strong personal beliefs and background, I remain open to evolving my perspectives. I actively seek out and welcome different opinions and ideas, recognizing that understanding and embracing a variety of viewpoints is essential for personal growth and a deeper comprehension of the world around us.
